HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! | RSS Feed |
POSTED BY SCOTT:
SARAH, JESSIE, MARTY AND NESSIE |
Wow!! What a tremendous day we had last Saturday. Our Sixth Anniversary party was a huge success. We gave out over 200 sandwiches, chips and drinks to feed an army of customers. Even the kegger in the back for family and friends was killed by close of business! Traffic was strong and we took six cd's full of high resolution images of folks with Nessie the Alligator!
Our door prize drawing was a huge success. We had nearly $3000 worth of stuff to raffle off. The ticket sales raised hundreds of dollars for the Red Cross. Many thanks to the following contributors. All of these folks were very generous and deserve mention: HAILEY PIKE AND NESSIE | Tokyo Kitchen, Critter Condos, Dr. Bui Family Dentistry (my dentist!), Golden China Restaurant, Bombay Bistro Indian Cuisine, Craig Mauk Insurance, VCA Animal Hospital, Roger LeVoy, Baldy View Animal KATIE PIKE AND NESSIE |
Hospital, Ron and Marilyn Tremper, Leopardgecko.com, Philippe and Gigi DeVosjoli, GiantGeckos.com, BJ's Brewhouse, Macaroni Grill. If I have missed you, please accept my personal apology. To everyone that donated door prizes please accept our sincerest thanks. Your support is truly appreciated.
It seems our anniversary party has become the gateway to the holiday season. Too much fun! From Scott, Mike, Tim, Crystal, Jose, Corey and Kyle we want to wish you and yours a terrific Thanksgiving and the rest of your holiday season. We all have a lot to be thankful for. Take the day, enjoy your friends and/or family, have a nice meal and reflect on all of your comforts, fortunes, gifts, treasures and more. Above all stay safe. There will be inebriated drivers out there. Keep a safe distance.

FALL IS HERE! | RSS Feed |
Posted by Scott:
Well, Halloween has come and gone, fall has fell, we have set our clocks back. Guess what that means!?!
You guessed CRYSTAL AND ALICE |
it! Hibernation time is here. Give the animals time to clear their stomachs so food wont rot in hibernation. Make sure the hibernaculum is humid so they dont dehydrate and relax. Take a break. We suggest you check the animals' weight once or twice a month to make sure they are doing well. Weight loss means dehydration, give 'em a drink.
On another note, we have had another great tour with Alice Cooper. Most everybody LOURDES AND ALICE ON STAGE! |
knows Alice rents our albino burmese python "Lourdes" for use in his show. This year was really special. We had to deliver and pick up Lourdes at two different local venues. That means "working badges". Backstage access. Catered food. Free beers at the after party. Tim and Crystal went to the Halloween show at the Grove in Anaheim. Tim and Scott did the Greek Theater a TIM AND ALICE AT THE GREEK! |
month ago. Talk about fun. A great time was had by all. Tim and Crystal got to hang out with Alice last night. They are still talking about it. We feel great giving such fun opportunities to our staff. I woulda gone too but I had to trick or with my daughter. A cute little witch she was.
Announcement!:Saturday, November 19th, 2005. Mark your calendars. Nov. 19 is our six year anniversary/customer appreciation party. Tons of door prizes, free food, meet and greet with an alligator, and more. Did I say free food? We could not do this without you loyal customers. Now let us buy you lunch. Huge sale and thousands of dollars in free prizes. Door prize proceeds to go to Red Cross Animal Relief. See you then!

IT'S BEEN TOO LONG | RSS Feed |
Posted by ScottI have not made a new entry for over a month. Wow! Times fun when your having flies. :-) EUREKA IS THE BEST |
OK. A sad day has come upon us at Amazon. We have made the decision to sell Eureka and Goldmine. We no longer have room for rabbits to keep her fed. Our rat business has flourished and we have found a need to take over the rabbit bin for rats! Eureka has been a long and trusted friend around here. She has produced well over $12,000 worth of babies for us the last two years. This wonderfuly, yet huuuuge, snake is so beautiful and so gentle. Goldmine (Eureka's husband) is also a gentle snake. He has even been on a tour with Alice Cooper! Her babies are the best of the best. They always eat very well, taming rapidly and have awesome colors. It will be a sad day to see her go, but we are certain her new owner will be very pleased and financially enriched! CLICK HERE TO SEE THEIR AD NICE SMILE JOHN! |
Today we had a neat little fella visiting with his Dad. John got to hold his first snake. I found his semi-toothless smile priceless, so I thought I'd share his photo with the world. Thanks Dad! KNOTTY SNAKE |
On another note. Recently a loyal customer found a California Two Striped Racer (Masticophis lateralis) stuck in a knot. The snake had an swollen injury below the knot. It was also shedding. So it makes me wonder if this species uses a knot to push the old skin off and this time the injury got it stuck. Has anyone seen a healthy Two Striped racer shed his skin?

We just recieved delivery of Ron Tremper's new epic tome "Herpetoculture of the Leopard Gecko". This is a huge addition to herpetocultural knowledge. We have a few signed copies available. Click here to see the book.
We just got back from the Daytona show. Man oh man. In the last two weeks we have bought a huge selection of new livestock. Between USA purchases, an importation and the Daytona it is a huge number of species/specimens. Many of you will want these. Here are some links:
North American Wood Turtles, Phrynops williamsi, Phrynops undescribed species, Hydromedusa tectifera, Albino Red Eared Sliders, CB Russian Tortoises and more.
GREEN TREE MONITOR | Green Tree Monitors, Red Tegus, Argentine Black & White Tegus, Asian Water Monitors and more.
Axanthic South Florida Kings, Albino Checkerd Garters, Bugeyed White Ratsnakes, Ruby Eyed Ghost Corns and more.
Albino Burmese (Eurekas babies), Salmon Boas, Guyanan Redtails, Colombians, Brazilian Rainbows and more.
Mike and I had a neat opportunity to go herping in central RED TEGU |
Florida during the show. Even though it was mid-summer and hotter than Hades and little rain anywhere we still saw a ton of stuff. Green Treefrogs and Cubans on the windows at McDonalds! Bahamian Brown Anoles at Wendies, water snakes, alligators, a baby Glass lizard (sweet!), southern leopard frogs, barking treefrogs and I am sure I left out a few. Very cool to see new and unusual stuff. How many Red Diamond Rattlesnakes and Coastal Rosy boas can a guy look at? :-)
If we saw you there we had a great time and good to see you. If not sorry we missed you. If you could not go... put it on your calender for next year. It is a great trip. Book your hotel now! Rooms are limited.
